Spring 2020 newsletter: Annual conference

We’re sorry to announce that we’ll be postponing our annual summer conference due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We hope to be able to reschedule for the autumn and will keep you updated. As ever, we remain committed to sharing our research widely and freely, and we’ll continue to do so over the coming months, exploring how we can use new and existing channels to bring our research insights to life.

Interview with Professor David Laibson

In this video, Nest Insight’s Will Sandbrook sits down with David Laibson to talk about his research that looks at the impact of policy interventions, like auto enrolment, on the overall household balance sheet. You can hear more from David in this recording of his conference presentation, when he spoke on the importance of creating a ‘portfolio of policy’ that builds on the initial benefits of nudges, alongside a wider strategy that supports long-term behavioural change. 

Interview with Ida Rademacher

Our collaboration with The Aspen Institute Financial Security Program seeks to find solutions to the retirement challenges of this and the next generation of global defined contribution (DC) savers. Here, Will chats to Ida Rademacher about how the partnership evolved, and our shared interest in how short-term financial challenges, such as income volatility and household debt, interact with long-term financial security.
